This duplex is being "auctioned" off by owner this weekend, hope no one on this board was foolish enough to fall for this one. (If you live in the area, you might've seen the green amateurish sandwich boards advertising the auction.)

The owner is a real estate agent (surprise!) and was trying to sell it for $725K, although the short sale auction starts at $179K. I can only imagine the equity sucked out of this.... Also, there's almost $5K in taxes owed.

Thanks for posting information on this place. I was not aware of this sale or the auction, though I don't monitor Golden Hill too closely. I'm going out on a limb here, but IMO 725k is like stepping into a portal back to 2005/2006. Good luck. Auction to highest bidder acceptable to seller? Uh, what? Sure this isn't an REDC auction.
